Announcing Monthly Math Mania!!!

posted Oct 4, 2016, 6:04 PM by Brandy Hutchens   [ updated Nov 29, 2016, 6:11 AM ]

What: Monthly math challenges created for each grade level.  There will be 1 question each month per grade level. Students and their families are encouraged to work on the challenges at home throughout the month and turn in an answer by the last Friday of each month.  All answers will be reviewed and then two will be randomly selected per grade level from among all correct answers.  The 2 winners from each grade level will be announced during morning announcements.  The 12 winners for that month will receive 30 minutes of time in the Makerspace to explore and create. This year we will have Makerspace themes for each month!

Why: We want math to become part of the dinner conversation.  We want mathematical brains to stretch.  We want to foster an interest and love for math among families!  Good luck, have fun, and contact Ms. Kochy or Mrs. Hutchens with questions.

Click on the monthly link to see and print out the challenges.
