Carrboro Makerspace
The Carrboro Makerspace is almost done with construction!  We are always collecting materials for our Cub Engineers to use. Please check out our donations page to find out where to drop things off and what you can do to help!

What is a Makerspace?
A makerspace is a kind of Do It Yourself space where students can gather to create, invent, and learn. They often have 3D printers, software, electronics, craft, hardware supplies, tools, and more. Students are encouraged to explore, discover, build, and create new ideas through hands on problem solving.

How will it be Used?
We are currently working to design and create curriculum for all grade levels here at CES. Our goal for this year is for each classroom to come to the makerspace for an introductory unit as well as curriculum written especially to go along with at least one science unit. Classrooms and teachers will also be able to sign up to use the space as needed for their own lessons and ideas. We plan to continue to add to our bank of lessons for teachers to use each year.
